Sandra Regina

A filha que Pelé rejeitou.

Sandra Regina Machado foi uma política e escritora brasileira, nascida no dia 24 em agosto de 1964, em Guarujá, SP. Fruto de um relacionamento extraconjugal do jogador Pelé com a dona de casa Anísia Machado.

Ele tentou esconder a história para evitar o escândalo. Sandra foi muito julgada por ter procurado e o colocado na justiça após a rejeição, sendo isso foi uma recomendação do próprio Pelé: “Se diz que é minha filha, então manda pro pau”.

Sandra foi eleita duas vezes vereadora da cidade de Santos. Na câmara, conseguiu que o exame de DNA fosse gratuito para usuários da rede pública. Alguns anos depois, a lei municipal foi estendida nacionalmente. Só em 1996, conseguiu confirmar a legítima paternidade de Pelé, que recorreu treze vezes no processo e nunca se aproximou de Sandra. O pedido de retratação por danos morais causados pela falta de paternidade, apoio moral, material e psicológico durante a infância, foi negado pela justiça.

Ela chegou a escrever um livro, intitulado “A Filha que o Rei não Quis”.

Tratando um câncer de mama por mais de um ano, Sandra faleceu em outubro de 2006, por metástase pulmonar. Pelé não compareceu ao enterro em Santos, mesmo estando em São Paulo.

Sandra é um exemplo do abandono paterno, tão comum no Brasil, e que mesmo tendo o “rei” do futebol como protagonista, nada foi feito.
