No Brasil, quando comparada com a população branca, a negra é inegavelmente mais pobre e neste grupo, as mulheres negras são mais pobres ainda. Mas, apesar disso, há ao menos quatro séculos elas são empreendedoras.

Herança genética, aprendizado, perseverança, luta por sobrevivência .. de um jeito ou de outro as mulheres negras seguem empreendendo e cada vez mais inovando em negócios que elas se enxergam.

Da barraca de acarajé e outros quitutes à rede de salões de beleza e a pequenos empreendimentos. Sim, elas, nós e eu estamos na vanguarda do empreendedorismo feminino.

Foram, sem dúvida, as primeiras a sair às ruas vendendo e negociando seus produtos, afinal no Brasil Colônia, as negras, se livres, podiam sair nas ruas sozinhas, o que não era permitido às mulheres brancas, por exemplo. Ainda que isso não signifique que não eram também vítimas do machismo.

Por vezes, o dinheiro ganho nos pequenos empreendimentos dessas mulheres, financiava a liberdade de outras pessoas ainda escravizadas, apoiava a imprensa negra e outros grupos e associações abolicionistas, como nossa história conta.

As mulheres negras continuam sendo as mais pobres, enfrenadquiridas nos bancos escolares, nas universidades, na troca de experiências com pessoas de outros países. Mas, apesar disso, elas estão em toda parte, sozinhas ou acompanhadas, fazendo diferença em um mundo que a sociedade insiste em identificar como branco, jovem e masculino.

Por isso, a próxima vez que for comprar um acarajé, uma cocada, fazer o cabelo, lavar o carro, comprar joias, cosméticos, ou qualquer outra coisa, abra os olhos. Uma mulher negra empreendedora pode estar diante de você e, certamente muito ela terá para lhe contar. E, se você for uma mulher negra empreendedora ou que quer empreender, saiba que você não está sozinha.
