O adeus a Ivone Lara

A sambista, pioneira em um reduto exclusivamente masculino, morre aos 97 anos.

Rainha do Samba de raiz, a  Grande Dama do Samba, Dona Ivone Lara, como era conhecida por todos,  foi uma das pedras fundamentais do samba carioca. Autora de clássicos como Sonho Meu e Alguém me Avisou,  morreu na noite desta segunda-feira, aos 97 anos.

Dona Ivone, apesar da idade avançada,  era venerada por sambistas de diferentes gerações e chamada de “Rainha” e “Primeira-dama do samba”, fez shows até pouco tempo atrás. Em 2016, celebrou os 95 anos numa apresentação que contou com outros artistas e seu neto André Lara. Em 2010, fora homenageada pelo Prêmio da Música Brasileira. Nos últimos anos, a cantora se deslocava em cadeira de rodas e era amparada por familiares. Em suas aparições públicas, estava sempre sorridente e alinhada. Onde chegava, era ovacionada.

Em 2012 foi homenageada pelo Império Serrano, no grupo de acesso, com o enredo Dona Ivone Lara: O enredo do meu samba. Em 2010 foi a homenageada na 21.ª edição do Prêmio da Música Brasileira. Em dezembro de 2014 foi a homenageada na 19.ª edição do Trem do Samba. Um mês antes, Dona Ivone havia participado do primeiro dia de gravações do Sambabook, em homenagem à sua carreira da gravadora Musickeria. Cantores como Maria Bethânia, Elba Ramalho, Criolo, Zeca Pagodinho, Martinho da Vila, Arlindo Cruz, Adriana Calcanhoto e Zélia Duncan fizeram versões de canções de Dona Ivone, enquanto ela própria gravou com Diogo Nogueira uma canção inédita, composta com seu neto, André. Em 2015, entrou para a lista das Dez Grandes Mulheres que Marcaram a História do Rio.

Nascida em 13 de abril de 1921, no Rio de Janeiro, Dona Ivone Lara,  herdou  dos pais o amor pela música, ambos tinham intensa vida musical: o pais era violonista de sete cordas e ao mãe era ótima cantora e emprestava sua voz de soprano a ranchos carnavalescos tradicionais do Rio de Janeiro.  Dona Ivone Lara compôs seu primeiro samba aos 12 anos, Tiê, Tiê, depois de ganhar de seus primos um pássaro da espécie. O bichinho, bem como a sua estreia na composição, é citado no samba-enredo em sua homenagem. “Quero ver quem não vai se embalar / No encanto do Tiê Oia Lá Oxá”, dizem dois dos versos da música do trio Arlindo Cruz, Tico do Império e Arlindo Neto.

Ivone Lara aprendeu a tocar cavaquinho com o tio Dionísio Bento da Silva, que tocava violão de sete cordas e integrava o grupo de chorões que reunia Pixinguinha e Donga. Primeira mulher a ganhar uma disputa de samba-enredo numa escola de samba no Rio, em 1965, com a música Os Cinco Bailes da História do Rio, parceria com Silas de Oliveira e Bacalhau, reinou num ambiente exclusivamente masculino, à época.

Com discrição, elegância e talento, venceu pela arte, servindo de exemplo a muitos nomes femininos que despontam na história do Samba como Leci Brandão, Beth Carvalho, Tereza Cristina e tantas outras grandes cantoras.

Dona Ivone morreu em consequência de um quadro de insuficiência cardiorrespiratória após permanecer internada por três dias no Centro de Tratamento e Terapia Intensiva (CTI) da Coordenação de Emergência Regional (CER), no Leblon, Rio de Janeiro. O velório aconteceu na Quadra da Império Serrano, sua escola do coração, em Madureira, na Zona Norte da cidade.
