Duas grandes redes de varejo da Austrália – que são como uma espécie de Lojas Americanas de lá – decidiram retirar completamente das prateleiras os jogos da Rockstar, “Grand Theft Auto 5”. Uma petição criada por três moças, alertando e criticando o conteúdo de violência contra mulher que existe no jogo, ganhou mais de 45 mil assinaturas e gerou um burburinho que chegou ao conhecimento dessas lojas.
“Este jogo se espalha a ideia de que certas mulheres existem como bodes expiatórios para a violência masculina”, afirma a descrição da petição. “Jogos como este estão criando mais uma geração de meninos que concordam com a violência contra as mulheres”.
“GTA” sendo “GTA”: sempre polêmico
Não é nem uma surpresa ver a franquia de sucesso da Rockstar recebendo críticas ou atémesmo processos judiciais. “GTA” sempre foi alvo de amor e ódio das pessoas por causa de sua história e jogabilidade controversa. É possível, sim, transar uma mulher e matá-la. Mas não há um incentivo epecífico para tal ou uma missão que peça que isso seja feito. Tudo depende da escolha do jogador que pode vandalizar, assassinar e cometer inúmeros outros crimes além deste.
Fato é que a petição chamou mesmo atenção das lojas Target, para quem foi direcionada, e também da Kmart. As empresas olharam mais à fundo para temática de “GTA 5” e decidiram questionar a opinião dos clientes sobre vender ou não o game. “Depois de uma análise a todos os conteúdos nos jogos Grand Theft Auto, a Kmart tomou a decisão de remover este produto imediatamente,” disse um representante das lojas ao site Kotaku australiano. “O Kmart pede desculpa por não ter estado mais atento ao conteúdo deste jogo”.
