Argentinas protestam a favor da legalização do aborto.

Milhares de argentinas protestaram nesta segunda-feira (28/05) em várias cidades do país a favor da legalização do aborto – proposta que está sendo analisada pelo Parlamento do país.

Recentemente, dois casos de gravidez em crianças de 11 anos de idade, vítimas de alegadas violações e abusos sexuais, reavivaram a discussão sobre o aborto na Argentina, motivando várias manifestações contra e a favor da interrupção da gestação.

O maior dos protestos desta segunda-feira foi organizado em frente ao Congresso argentino, no centro de Buenos Aires, onde a Câmara dos Deputados planeja debater em 13 de junho sobre um projeto de lei que contempla a Interrupção Voluntária da Gravidez (IVE).

Cerca de 2 mil mulheres se reuniram em frente ao Congresso com bandeiras e cartazes pró-aborto. Também houve manifestações em Rosario e Córdoba, entre outras cidades.

“Educação sexual para decidir, contraceptivos para não abortar, aborto legal para não morrer” é o lema das organizações que estão agrupadas na Campanha pelo Aborto Legal, Seguro e Gratuito, uma organização que impulsionou o projeto para a análise legislativa.

O debate sobre a legalização do aborto divide parte da sociedade argentina e as lideranças políticas. O presidente Mauricio Macri permitiu que o Parlamento debatesse o projeto, mas declarou ser contra a legalização do aborto.

Na última sexta-feira, Macri teve que ouvir uma queixa da Igreja Católica durante a celebração dos 208 anos da Revolução de Maio, o início do processo de independência da Argentina.

“O primeiro dever de um Estado é cuidar da vida de seus habitantes, especialmente dos mais pobres e mais fracos”, disse o cardeal Mario Poli, um colaborador próximo do papa Francisco.

Crianças abusadas

Num dos recentes casos de gravidez em meninas de 11 anos de idade no país, uma das garotas apareceu no hospital em Salta, no norte da Argentina, com dores abdominais. Posteriormente, ela acabou por dizer que o padrasto abusou dela. Naquela província, a lei apenas permite a interrupção da gravidez até a 12ª semana, e a menina estava na 19ª semana de gestação.

No outro caso, uma garota da província de Mendoza decidiu manter a gravidez e já está no quarto mês de gestação. A situação veio à tona após a queixa de uma professora. A menina também foi alvo de abusos do companheiro da mãe.

O artigo 86 do Código Penal da Argentina declara a interrupção da gravidez como ato não punível se a vida ou a saúde da mulher estão em risco, se é fruto de estupro ou atentado ao pudor cometido contra uma mulher com deficiência intelectual.

Em 2012, a Corte Suprema declarou que o aborto é permitido em caso de violência. Mas várias províncias ainda não aderiram a essa decisão. Mendoza é uma das que não aderiu, enquanto em Salta foi aprovada apenas há dois dias, depois do caso da menina de 11 anos vir à tona.

O aborto é a principal causa de mortalidade materna na Argentina. Todos os anos há cerca de 50 mil internações em hospitais públicos para casos de interrupção da gravidez, relatou o ministro da Saúde, Adolfo Rubinstein. Estima-se que cerca de 500 mil abortos clandestinos sejam realizados anualmente na Argentina.
