Feminismo em cordel

arid Arraes é jornalista, tem 23 anos, e nasceu em Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará. Filha e neta de cordelistas, desde muito pequena escrevia, cercada pela poesia e cultura popular nordestina. “Mas eu também percebia que a maioria das histórias que lia em cordel eram cheias de estereótipos, machismo, racismo, homofobia e deboche contra grupos marginalizados. Isso acontece porque o cordel é escrito por pessoas comuns e todos esses tipos de discriminação são altamente disseminados e aceitos na nossa sociedade”, afirma Jarid.

Foi a partir dessa crítica à realidade que a cearense decidiu criar a literatura de cordel feminista, com temáticas que abordam, por exemplo, questões de gênero, transfobia, preconceito racial e abuso sexual.

Hoje, Jarid tem dez livros publicados. As histórias – como manda a tradição cordelista – são todas baseadas em situações verídicas. Um dos títulos é “Dora: a negra e feminista”, que narra o processo de compreensão do feminismo por uma negra a partir da ajuda de outras mulheres, e a necessidade de cotas raciais em universidades. Outro, “A menina que não queria ser princesa”, é destinado às crianças e procura desconstruir o que chamamos de “coisas de menino” e “coisas de menina”. “As meninas são relacionadas ao ambiente doméstico e assuntos de beleza, enquanto os meninos podem brincar com tudo que é do mundo exterior. Isso é nocivo, naturaliza o machismo e impede que as crianças sejam quem elas têm potencial real para ser”, declara a escritora.

Mesmo que não direcionadas a alguém real, as rimas presentes nos livros retratam o cotidiano da mulher em uma sociedade machista. “Grande parte das coisas que me incomodavam no mundo partem de pressupostos que desvalorizam e trazem imposições ao comportamento feminino. Enxergar isso me trouxe empoderamento e eu decidi militar, porque quero levar essa conscientização para mais pessoas”, diz Jarid.
