Quatro meses após ter feito a denúncia de que havia sido estuprada em Dubai, nos Emirados Árabes, a norueguesa Marte Deborah Dalelv foi condenada a 16 meses de prisão pelo fato.
De acordo com as leis locais, um estuprador só pode ser condenado se confessar o crime ou se for visto praticando o estupro por quatro testemunhas homens. Como denunciou o abuso, Marte foi condenada por fazer sexo fora do casamento e perjúrio. Ela ainda foi considerada culpada por ter ingerido bebida alcóolica na noite em que sofreu o estupro. Nos Emirados Árabes também é proibido beber.
“A sentença em Dubai a uma norueguesa que denunciou um estupro é contrária ao nosso sentido da justiça. Daremos a ela apoio no processo de apelação”, disse Espen Barth Eide, o ministro das Relações Exteriores norueguês, em sua conta no Twitter.
Segundo informações do site norueguês VG.no, no dia em que fez a denúncia, Marte ainda foi alvo de gozações das autoridades, que teriam perguntado a ela se”estava fazendo a denúncia por não ter gostado do sexo”.
